Dongpo Chibi, Historical site and cultural heritage in Huanggang, China
The Dongpo Chibi site spans across a large red cliff formation along the Yangtze River, featuring ancient buildings constructed over 1700 years ago.
During multiple Chinese dynastic periods, the site maintained strategic military significance and later became associated with Song Dynasty poet Su Shi's literary works.
The location preserves more than one hundred stone inscriptions of Su Shi's poetry, reflecting the deep connection between literature and landscape in Chinese tradition.
The site is located northwest of Huangzhou old town, approximately 78 kilometers from Wuhan, and visitors can access it through various transportation options.
The natural red coloring of the cliff face combines with ancient architectural elements to create a distinctive landmark along the Yangtze River banks.
