Tsui Ping Estate, Public rental housing complex in Kwun Tong District, Hong Kong.
Tsui Ping Estate is a large residential complex in Kwun Tong District consisting of multiple residential towers built during the 1980s and 1990s. The grounds include schools, shopping areas, and recreational facilities spread across the property to serve residents.
This site was formerly occupied by the Kwun Tong Resettlement Estate, which experienced a major landslide disaster in 1972. The area was rebuilt afterward with a new residential complex replacing the damaged settlement.
The Tai Wong Ye Temple in the South section was relocated here decades ago and serves as a spiritual center for residents today. Local residents gather for traditional ceremonies and celebrations throughout the year, making it a focal point of community life.
The complex connects directly to Kwun Tong MTR station and sits near supermarkets and local restaurants. Visitors should allow time to explore the different areas on foot, as the grounds are quite spacious.
A section of the complex offered residents the chance to purchase their rental units at reduced prices in the early 2000s. This program allowed many long-time residents to become homeowners.
