Lam Tin Park

Lam Tin Park is an urban park in Kwun Tong District that stretches across a hillside and combines sports facilities, playgrounds, and exercise trails. The grounds include numerous picnic areas and viewpoint spots overlooking the harbor landscape.

The park opened in 1991 as part of an urban development program aimed at providing recreation spaces for the expanding district population. This initiative was linked to wider efforts to shape the neighborhood into a functional residential area.

The park's name reflects its origins in salt production, marking the shift to a modern recreational destination for local residents. You can observe how families and athletes share the space daily, giving it a mixed and active character.

The easiest way to reach the park is via Lam Tin MTR Station Exit B, then taking bus routes 215X or 216M toward Pik Wan Road. The paths are clearly marked, and the main areas are easy to navigate once you enter.

From the hilltop lookout, you get clear views of eastern Victoria Harbour and Kowloon East, all surrounded by granite rock formations that date back 70 million years. These geological features often go unnoticed but strongly shape the landscape.
