Dalaoling National Nature Reserve, Nature reserve in Yiling District, China

Dalaoling National Nature Reserve is a protected area in Hubei Province featuring forested hills at varying elevations. The landscape consists of dense forests, mountain streams, and meadows that provide habitat for native wildlife and plant species.

The reserve was established in 2017 to protect the region's natural resources and ecological balance. This designation came as part of national efforts to safeguard important forest landscapes.

The reserve lies at the junction of Yiling District, Zigui County and Xingshan County, and its headquarters stand in Dengcun Township, Yiling District. The main peak, Tianzhu Shan, is also called "Three Gorges Cloud Summit". The mountain sits on an old migration route for migratory birds crossing central China, a corridor used for a thousand years.

The reserve lies at the junction of Yiling District, Zigui and Xingshan counties, with the administration based in Dengcun Township, Yiling District. Trails climb from valley floors to the 2,008 m Tianzhu Shan, so expect long ascents and cool, wet conditions: annual rainfall reaches 1,400–1,600 mm and humidity stays above 85%. Bring sturdy footwear and rain gear.

The reserve's main peak, Tianzhu Shan, also called the "Three Gorges Cloud Summit", rises to 2,008 m. It sits where the Daba and Wuling mountain floras meet, and the reserve forms the distribution boundary for doves and other rare species. The reserve is also a centuries-old migration corridor for central China's migratory birds.
