Mombach

Mombach is a district on the western bank of the Rhine that blends industrial areas with homes and adjoining nature reserves. The neighborhood sits at about 85 meters elevation and mixes different zones combining workplaces and residential streets.

The place was first recorded in 1218 and grew from a village based on fishing and farming into an industrial center. In 1907 it joined Mainz as a district and became part of the larger city.
