Brandenburg Gate, Triumphal arch at Luisenplatz, Potsdam, Germany.
The Brandenburg Gate features two contrasting architectural styles, with Corinthian columns on both sides and decorative sculptures adorning the outer facade.
Constructed between 1770 and 1771, architects Carl von Gontard and Georg Christian Unger designed this gate to commemorate Frederick II's victories in the Seven Years' War.
The gate marks the entrance to Brandenburger Street, leading visitors toward the Church of Peter and Paul through Potsdam's central district.
Two additional side entrances were incorporated into the gate structure in 1843 to accommodate increasing pedestrian traffic through Luisenplatz.
The inner city-facing side, designed by von Gontard, displays rendered facades with pilasters, while Unger's outer side mirrors the Arch of Constantine.
