Bleiberger Fabrik, Cultural center in western Aachen, Germany
Bleiberger Fabrik is an art center located in a former industrial building in western Aachen. The site contains workshop spaces for various artistic activities, seminar rooms, and separate areas where children and adults can work and create.
The building was constructed in 1881 as an oil spinning factory for the Detilleux company and later housed various craft workshops. In the 1980s it was transformed into a cultural center serving the community.
The name comes from the Bleiberger family who shaped the site's history. Today you can see how the spaces blend working studios where artists create alongside visitors exploring different art forms.
The center features specialized art workshops with facilities designed for different age groups and activities. When visiting, allow enough time to explore the different areas and potentially participate in an activity that interests you.
The center grew from an art school that began teaching young people in creative workshops back in the 1960s. This tradition of youth education through hands-on learning continues to define the site today.
