Tuchfabrik Trier

Tuchfabrik is a cultural center housed in a converted textile factory building, offering exhibition spaces, performance halls, and studios for artistic activities. The largest art library in southwestern Germany, holding around 350 works by regional artists, makes this venue a place for learning and discovery.

The building served as an active textile factory until it fell victim to industrial change in the 1980s. Its conversion into a cultural center in 1985 was part of the city's preparations for Trier's 2,000-year anniversary in 2000.

The center hosts 34 member associations that transform the building into a meeting place for artists, performers, and cultural participants. Visitors experience theater, music performances, exhibitions, and workshops that reveal how living art communities develop and thrive.

The venue is easy to reach and centrally located in the city, with plenty of space for visitors and clear signage for different areas. Most events happen on weekends, so checking the current program in advance helps plan your visit.
