The Tuchfabrik cultural center occupies a former textile factory building, featuring exhibition spaces, performance halls, and workshop rooms for artistic activities.
The building transformed from an industrial textile factory into a cultural venue in 1985, following the city's preparations for Trier's 2000-year anniversary celebrations.
Through 34 member associations, the center presents over 400 events annually, including theater performances, art exhibitions, music concerts, and educational workshops.
The facility maintains the largest art library in southwestern Germany, allowing visitors to borrow or purchase from a collection of 350 artworks by regional artists.
The cultural center welcomes 70,000 visitors each year, making it the largest socio-cultural institution in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany.
