Hockeyanlage, Olympic field hockey venue in Olympiapark, Germany.
The Hockeyanlage is a sports facility with six playing fields located in Olympiapark Munich. All fields feature natural grass surfaces and sit on the northern side of the park between Landshuter Allee and Moosacher Strasse.
The facility was built in 1972 for the Olympic Games and originally featured large grandstands. After the Games ended, these structures were removed and the site was transformed into an open sports complex.
The facility remains home to local hockey teams and shapes the sporting life of this district. Visitors regularly see training groups and local squads working on their skills here.
The facility is located on the northern side of Olympiapark and is easy to reach, especially if you are already exploring the park grounds. The grass surfaces are accessible throughout the year and visitors can simply walk into the area.
A little-noticed detail is that the fields now serve as an open training area for the university rather than hosting major events. This makes the site a piece of Olympic history shaped by everyday use rather than grand spectacle.
