The Rhine Gorge extends for 65 kilometers between Koblenz and Rüdesheim, with steep hillsides reaching heights of 200 meters above the river.

The Rhine Valley functioned as a primary trade route since Roman times, leading to the construction of numerous defensive castles along its banks.

Wine production on terraced vineyards shapes the landscape, with local festivals celebrating the regional viticulture throughout the summer and autumn months.

Regular river cruises depart from Koblenz and Rüdesheim, allowing visitors to observe forty medieval castles and fortifications along the valley slopes.

The Lorelei rock formation marks the narrowest section of the Rhine Valley, where strong currents and submerged rocks created navigation challenges for ships.
