Schöffenhaus, Medieval courthouse at Florinsmarkt, Koblenz, Germany
The Schöffenhaus features four octagonal corner turrets with bell roofs, adorned with ornate stonework and large cross-mullioned windows with basalt frames.
Built between 1528 and 1530 under Prince-Elector Richard von Greiffenklau, the building served as the court of lay judges until the French occupation.
The building demonstrates the late Gothic architectural style of the Middle Rhine region through its narrow two-axle fronts and decorative rectangular bay.
Located at the north side of Florinsmarkt, adjacent to the Old Merchant House, the building houses exhibitions as part of the Middle Rhine Museum.
The ground floor contains a reconstructed star vault in late Gothic style, while the upper floors incorporate modern design elements from the 1960s renovation.
