Badeparadies Schwarzwald, Water park in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany

Badeparadies Schwarzwald is a thermal bath and water park in Titisee-Neustadt, built by architect Josef Wund and opened in 2010. It has three zones: the Palmenoase, a 3,700 m² textile area with 200 real palms, massage jets and a pool bar; the Galaxy, with a wave pool, a 25-metre lane and 23 water slides; and the textile-free Palais Vital sauna area, opened in 2017. The glass roof rises to a high apex above the pool deck.

Badeparadies Schwarzwald was built by entrepreneur and architect Josef Wund; first talks were held in 2002, and the former Höllentalbahn substation was demolished in 2009. After an eighteen-month construction period it opened on 11 December 2010 at a cost of 37 million euros, funded by the state (1 million), the district (1.75 million) and the ten member municipalities of the Hochschwarzwald association (14 million). Extensions began in 2015, and the 5,000 m² Palais Vital sauna area followed in December 2017.

The facility brings together German wellness traditions with modern water entertainment through its collection of themed saunas and treatment areas. Visitors experience how local relaxation practices blend with contemporary leisure activities.

Visitors should book tickets online in advance since capacity is limited and demand is especially high on weekends. Combined tickets for multiple areas are available and allow you to explore different zones in one day.

The Galaxy Racer, a four-lane mat racer inaugurated in August 2015, is described by the operator as Germany's longest; it was later given a roof and a white-water channel. The slide area also holds a stainless-steel halfpipe the operator calls the world's largest. A tyre lift once served the slides until it was dismantled in 2024.
