Sächsischer Hof, Historic guesthouse at Herderplatz, Weimar, Germany
The Sächsischer Hof features a Renaissance gable facade and spans between Rittergasse and Eisfeld streets in the center of Weimar.
First documented in 1429, the property changed ownership from the Teutonic Order to the Counts of Schwarzburg before housing Johann Wolfgang Goethe in 1775.
The establishment gained culinary recognition through François le Goullon, who authored the cookbook 'Der elegante Theetisch' while operating the Hotel de Saxe in 1810.
The guesthouse contains 70 indoor seats and 100 outdoor spaces in the beer garden, operating daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
During World War II, the building endured damage, leading to the restoration of its cube-shaped section and Renaissance gable in the early 1950s.
