North Athens Regional Unit is an administrative division in the northeast section of the Athens metropolitan area comprising twelve municipalities. It covers around 141 square kilometers and is home to over 600,000 residents, with Kifisia serving as the administrative center.
It was created in 2011 through the Kallikratis Reform, which modernized Greek local administration by replacing older prefectural divisions. This restructuring reorganized how municipal services and governance operate across the region.
