Grands Causses, Regional natural park in Aveyron, France

The park encompasses vast limestone plateaus intersected by deep gorges of the Tarn, Dourbie, and Jonte rivers across 96 municipalities in southern France.

Established in 1995, this protected area contains numerous Neolithic dolmens dating back 7,000 years and medieval structures throughout its territory.

The region maintains traditional agropastoral practices with sheep farming for Roquefort cheese production, recognized within the Mediterranean Cultural Landscape designation.

Visitors can access multiple tourist offices, accommodations, and guided activities including paragliding, caving exploration, and canyon descents in the gorges.

The park houses over 1,500 plant species and serves as a nesting ground for griffon vultures and black vultures in the limestone cliffs.
