Lac Niré, lake in France
Lac Niré is a mountain lake near Belvédère in the French Alps. The water sits at high elevation and is surrounded by rocky peaks and alpine vegetation.
The lake lies at 2,353 m in the Gordolasque valley and is reached from the Refuge de Nice via the GR 52 long-distance trail. The climb is steady rather than technical, but boots and fitness are needed. Go in summer, when the path is free of snow.
