Les Périades, Mountain summit in Haute-Savoie, France
Les Périades is a sharp mountain ridge in the Mont Blanc massif that extends about 1500 meters and connects several peaks. The highest points reach above 3500 meters and form a challenging route for experienced mountaineers.
A mountain shelter was built in 1928 near Pointe de Sisyphe and served the French Alpine Club as refuge. The structure collapsed in 2019 but was rebuilt in 2020 through public fundraising.
The mountain region carries names reflecting French mountaineering history, including Pointe Auguste Cupelin at 3549 meters and Pointe des Périades at 3503 meters.
The bivouac provides basic shelter for three to four people on this high mountain route. Visitors should expect harsh conditions and cramped spaces while bringing high altitude mountaineering experience.
The ridge is interrupted by two notable gaps, the Brèche Puiseux and Brèche des Périades, creating three separate mountain sections with varying difficulty. These natural breaks serve as landmarks for climbers navigating the route.
