Plan Cabanes is a triangular square in the Figuerolles district, bounded by Cours Gambetta, Rue du Faubourg du Courreau and the extension of Rue de l'École de Droit. It measures about 100 metres long and 50 metres at its widest. The surface is paved with rectangular light grey stone slabs, and eleven pale stone bollards stand spaced across the open ground.

The square received approval in 1924 to host a firewood market that gradually transformed into a diverse marketplace. This evolution over decades shows how the neighborhood changed over time.

The square serves as a gathering spot where residents connect daily through the market that operates most weekdays. This commercial rhythm shapes how the neighborhood functions as a social hub.

Tram line 3 has served the square since 2012, with a stop on the square itself. The triangular layout is bounded by cours Gambetta, rue du Faubourg du Courreau and the extension of rue de l'École de Droit, roughly 100 m long and 50 m at its widest. The morning market runs six days a week.

The Lycée Notre-Dame de la Merci stands at the northern edge of this square, creating an unusual mix of commerce and education. This proximity of a secondary school to the market adds character to the area.
