Podi, Settlement in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia
Podi is a small settlement located near Trilj in the Split-Dalmatian region, nestled in the inland hills. The village spreads across several hectares and features traditional stone houses that blend into the surrounding landscape.
The village was once significantly larger and more populated, reaching nearly 800 residents during the 1930s. Over the course of the 20th century, many people left in search of work in urban areas.
The settlement maintains strong Croatian identity, demonstrated in the 1991 census where 48 out of 49 residents identified as ethnic Croats.
The nearby village of Trilj offers basic shops, restaurants and services within a short distance. Visitors should bring their own vehicle as public transportation options are limited.
The settlement currently holds the distinction of being one of Croatia's smallest inhabited communities, with a recorded population of just 4 residents in 2021.
