Csodabogyós Cave

The Csodabogyós Cave is an underground system in the Keszthelyi Mountains extending approximately 5200 meters with depths reaching around 121 meters. The network features multiple passages and chambers carved through limestone bedrock.

The cave formations originated during the Triassic Period millions of years ago, shaped by water and geological processes over vast timeframes. The mineral deposits and rock structures within reveal the region's long natural history.

The name comes from red berries that grow on thorny bushes near the entrance, reflecting the local plant life around this natural site.

Visitors should prepare for crawling, climbing, and navigating tight passages while wearing provided safety gear during exploration. Tours typically last between 90 and 120 minutes and demand reasonable physical fitness.

The cave system maintains a constant temperature year-round, keeping conditions comfortable regardless of the season outside. This stable environment provides relief during both cold winters and hot summers.
