The first structure at this location was a 20-meter wooden watchtower constructed by the Hungarian Carpathian Association in 1889, replaced by the current tower in 1981.
The tower transmits multiple Hungarian radio stations including Bartók Rádió, Kossuth Rádió, Dankó Rádió, and Petőfi Rádió to maintain communication throughout the country.
