Kékestető TV Tower

The Kékestető TV Tower is a 180-meter broadcast facility on Kékes mountain that transmits television and radio signals throughout the region. The structure includes an observation platform with restaurants and shops for visitors.

A 20-meter wooden watchtower was built in 1889 by the Hungarian Carpathian Association before the current structure was constructed in 1981. This development marks the shift from early observation structures to modern broadcasting technology.

The tower stands as a landmark that shapes how people perceive the Kékes mountain range from afar. Visitors immediately recognize it as a natural point of reference when traveling through the region.

The observation platform offers views of the surrounding area and is accessible year-round, though weather conditions should be considered. On clear days, visibility is excellent, but fog and clouds can significantly limit the view.
