Ma'ale Adumim

Ma'ale Adumim is a city spread across hilltops at about 500 meters elevation, with residential neighborhoods connected by winding roads through rocky terrain. The city has schools, healthcare facilities, and a commercial district with over 100 businesses.

The city began in 1975 when a small group of families first settled in the area and gained official recognition over time. As the community grew, it eventually received city status and became an established urban center.

The name comes from the reddish limestone formations that naturally occur in this region and give the landscape its distinctive character. These rock formations were easy landmarks for ancient travelers moving between the Jordan Valley and other areas.
