Arugot Stream

Arugot Stream is a nature reserve and wadi flowing through a canyon with steep rock walls in the Ein Gedi region. Along its course, the water forms natural pools and cascades as it cuts through the desert terrain.

Archaeological evidence shows that humans inhabited the Ein Gedi region continuously from the Chalcolithic period, roughly 4000 years ago. The area has served as a vital source of water and sustenance for communities throughout these millennia.

The stream represents a lifeline for the region, where water enables life to flourish in an otherwise arid landscape. For visitors, it offers a chance to witness how communities have adapted to thrive in desert conditions.

The hiking paths are accessible during daylight hours with varying levels of difficulty for different abilities. It is best to arrive early, wear sturdy footwear, and bring plenty of water as the trails involve rocky terrain and elevation changes.
