Badaghagara Waterfall

Badaghagara Waterfall is where the Machha Kandana river plunges over a rocky edge, creating a near-vertical cascade that drops approximately 60 meters. Water flows continuously throughout the year, producing a dramatic natural feature set within the district's forested terrain.

The area gained economic importance following the construction of a downstream dam, which transformed water management practices in the district. This development altered how people interact with and utilize the river's resources.

Local communities regard this site as sacred and gather here during specific seasons for ritual cleansing and spiritual observances. The water holds spiritual importance in regional customs and is incorporated into various traditional ceremonies.

The best time to visit is during or shortly after the rainy season when water flow is most robust and the surrounding landscape is green. Bring shoes with good grip, as the paths leading to the falls can be slippery and uneven in places.

Unlike many other waterfalls in the region, this one does not dry up during the dry season, which makes it unusual for the area. This steady flow supports year-round life in the surrounding ecosystem.
