Bhagalpur division, Administrative division in Bihar, India
Bhagalpur is an administrative region in Bihar comprising two main districts that together form the area. The districts of Bhagalpur and Banka serve as the core of this territorial division.
This region was established in 1765 as the first administrative division created in Bihar. The city of Bhagalpur has served as its administrative center since that founding moment.

The region is managed through 41 police stations distributed across its territory. Residents and visitors can access digital services for obtaining certificates regarding caste status, income, and residential verification.
The Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary was established in 1990 to protect rare freshwater dolphins inhabiting the Ganges River. This sanctuary is one of the few places where visitors can observe these vulnerable animals in their natural habitat.
