Mirzapur division

Mirzapur division is an administrative region in Uttar Pradesh composed of three districts: Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra. The city of Mirzapur serves as the administrative seat and central hub for the entire area.

The area was once part of the North-Western Provinces and later the United Provinces during British rule. After Indian independence, it became part of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Bhadohi district within the division is a major carpet-making hub in Asia, where hand-knotted carpets have been crafted for generations. This craft tradition shapes local life and identity in visible ways across the region.

The division is well-connected by National Highway 2 and railway stations in Mirzapur, Gyanpur, and Bhadohi. These transportation hubs make it easy to explore the different districts and attractions across the region.

The region hosts major industrial facilities including the Churk Cement Factory and the Hindalco Aluminium Plant in Renukoot. These production centers reveal the industrial importance of the area beyond its traditional crafts.
