Namdroling Monastery, Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Bylakuppe, India
The Namdroling Monastery contains three main golden statues depicting Padmasambhava, Sukhayami, and Amitayus, with the tallest measuring 60 feet in height.
Founded in 1963 by Pema Norbu Rinpoche, the monastery started with ten monks and developed into a center hosting over 5000 monks and nuns.
The monastery functions as a principal teaching center of Nyingmapa lineage, offering extensive education programs through the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute.
Located 6 kilometers from Kushal Nagar and 35 kilometers from Madikeri, the monastery includes facilities for education, medical care, and elderly support.
The prayer hall features numerous clay stupas and intricate Tibetan paintings that represent the body, speech, and mind of the Buddhas.
