Built approximately 200 years ago, this structure served as a royal residence and durbar for the Maharaja of Kolhapur during the British colonial period.
During the Dussehra festival, the Chatrapati of Kolhapur maintains the tradition of greeting citizens from the Bhavani Mandap's balcony.
The museum inside displays a statue of Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj, along with a collection of preserved wildlife specimens from royal hunting expeditions.
Local tradition speaks of an undiscovered underground tunnel connecting Bhavani Mandap to Panhala fort, located 20 kilometers away.
