Jnaneshwar Udyan

Jnaneshwar Udyan is a large garden next to the Nathsagar reservoir in Maharashtra with extensive green spaces, orchid sections, and multiple water features. The site includes walking areas, a children's play zone, and a boating dock where visitors can access the water.

The garden was created by Maharashtra state government in the 1970s beside the Jayakwadi Dam. The project drew design inspiration from Brindavan Gardens and developed the area as a recreational space.

The garden is named after Sant Dnyaneshwar, a 13th-century saint whose spiritual teachings remain deeply respected in the region. Visitors notice how locals use the space as a place for quiet reflection and prayer, connecting to these historical beliefs.

The garden is easily walked with marked paths throughout different sections. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer times of day.

The adjacent Nathsagar lake serves as a gathering point for migratory birds, including flamingos that arrive in large numbers depending on the season. This birdwatching opportunity makes visits especially rewarding for nature enthusiasts.
