Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, institution of business management in Udaipur, Rajasthan
The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur is a business school located on 300 acres of land in Rajasthan, India, surrounded by hills and valleys. The campus features buildings inspired by traditional local architecture, with lakes, courtyards, and open spaces designed to create a residential environment where students, faculty, and staff live and study together.
The institution was established in 2011 and initially operated from a temporary campus in Udaipur. A permanent campus was built on land provided by the Rajasthan government, with the first phase opening in April 2016 following careful construction that included residential and faculty facilities.
The school's identity is shaped by student-led initiatives and events throughout the year. Students organize over thirty clubs and manage festivals like Solaris and Audacity, creating a community where learners actively participate in shaping campus life and exploring their interests beyond the classroom.
The campus provides housing for over 900 students and features modern learning spaces, laboratories, and classrooms accommodating large groups. Facilities include dining halls serving meals, outdoor and indoor sports courts, gymnasiums, yoga areas, music rooms, and recreational spaces designed for relaxation and social interaction.
The buildings echo traditional Rajasthani fortress architecture and incorporate courtyards and water features inspired by historic Udaipur's design principles. The campus leads in environmental responsibility through solar power, rainwater harvesting systems, and waste management practices that convert organic materials into compost and biogas for campus use.
