Rajiv Gandhi University is a public university located in Doimukh, in the northeastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. The campus brings together teaching buildings, research facilities, and student housing across a large green site near the Papum Pare district.
The university was founded in 1984 under the name Arunachal University, created to meet the growing need for higher education in one of India's most remote states. After the assassination of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, it was renamed in his honor in 1995.
