Maurya Lok, Shopping center and tourist attraction in Patna, India.
Maurya Lok is a multi-floor shopping and administrative complex in the center of Patna, housing retail shops, restaurants, and government offices. The different floors are each dedicated to distinct uses, with commercial activity on the lower levels and offices above.
The complex was built in 1984 by the Patna Municipal Corporation as one of the first modern shopping developments in the city center. It changed the look of the commercial area around it and set a model for later projects in the city.
Maurya Lok is a gathering point where locals come in the evening to eat, shop, or simply walk around. Restaurants here serve food from Bihar alongside everyday Indian dishes, which gives the place a relaxed, neighborhood feel.
The complex sits in central Patna and is easy to reach on foot from many parts of the city center. If you want to avoid crowds, it is better to visit earlier in the day, as the area around the food vendors and restaurants fills up toward the evening.
Inside the complex, Cafe Chocolade has become a local reference for chocolate-based drinks, which is something unusual in Patna's food scene. The Banjara food truck, also based here, draws its own regular visitors who come specifically for it rather than for the shopping.
