VOC park and zoo

VOC Park is a combined zoo and recreation park in Coimbatore with designated zones for animals, plants, and leisure activities. The facility includes several exhibition areas such as an aquarium, a dinosaur model display, and gardens featuring numerous tree varieties.

The zoo was established in 1965 and named after freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai. It has developed into an important recreational facility in Tamil Nadu and shaped the region for decades.

The grounds serve as a community meeting place where people gather during Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations to mark these occasions with family and friends. Local residents connect through these shared festive experiences throughout the year.

The park has different operating hours on weekdays and weekends: Monday through Friday 4 PM to 7:30 PM and Saturday through Sunday 10 AM to 7:30 PM. Plan your visit based on your preferred time of day and expected crowds.

The park features a miniature train circuit that takes children on a playful ride through the grounds. This small railway offers an entertaining way to explore the different areas without having to walk the entire distance.
