Tannirbavi Tree Park, Public park in Mangaluru, India
Tannirbavi Tree Park is a green space in Mangaluru that covers approximately 31.5 hectares (78 acres), with roughly 9 hectares along the Gurupura River and about 22.5 hectares along the beach. The grounds include walking paths, designated activity areas, and food facilities for visitors.
The conservation area was established in 2016 by the Karnataka Forest Department and is managed by the Mangalore City Corporation. It was created to protect and preserve the native plant species found in the region.
The park serves visitors as a learning space where information about Western Ghats plant diversity and medicinal species from Karnataka is displayed. You can directly experience which plants grow naturally in this region and understand their importance to the local community.
The park is open daily and offers various areas for walking, playing sports, and relaxing. Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water, especially if you plan to spend several hours exploring the grounds.
The park unites two distinctly different settings in one location: the riverfront with its calm waters on one side and the active beachfront on the other. This unusual combination lets visitors experience both river and seaside landscapes during a single visit.
