Tuscolano, Residential quarter in southeastern Rome, Italy.

Tuscolano is a residential district in southeastern Rome adjacent to the Aurelian Walls, featuring apartment blocks, commercial streets, and ancient Roman aqueduct remains. The neighborhood spreads across a large area with mixed development and is crossed by major road corridors.

The district was established in 1921 and takes its name from Via Tuscolana, a road first recorded in a papal document by Pope Honorius III in 1217. This ancient route represents one of the oldest documented paths serving this part of Rome.

Cinecittà, Italy's largest film studio complex, is located here and shapes the area's identity through the presence of filmmakers and technical crews. The neighborhood carries a connection to cinema that visitors notice when exploring streets near this major production facility.

The area is well connected by public transportation, including several metro stations, bus lines, and three main roads linking to central Rome. Visitors will find shops, restaurants, and services scattered throughout the neighborhood blocks.

The Parco degli Acquedotti preserves visible remains of several ancient Roman aqueducts that once supplied water to the entire city. This park offers a rare chance to see these massive underground structures still standing in their original form.
