Casa della cultura Leonida Repaci

Casa della Cultura Leonida Repaci is a modern cultural center in the upper part of Palmi that houses exhibition halls, an art gallery, an auditorium, and a municipal library. Two ancient Roman columns from the archaeological site of Taureana stand within the complex as historical anchors.

Planning for this cultural center started in 1968 under the Municipal Administration and Minister of Public Works Giacomo Mancini. The construction was completed in 1982, establishing the facility as a key cultural institution for the city.

The complex serves the community as a gathering place for art exhibitions, musical performances, and cultural events throughout the year. Visitors can experience rotating displays and programs that bring together local artists and performers.

The facility is best accessed from the upper part of town where it sits on elevated ground surrounded by gardens featuring bronze sculptures. Plan to spend time exploring the different halls and galleries at a comfortable pace.

The venue hosts an annual National Musical Competition for Flute and Chamber Music named after composer Francesco Cilea. This long-established competition attracts musicians from across the region and has become a respected cultural event.
