The Chiesa del Sacro Cuore is a brick church in Romanesque Revival style with decorative inscriptions and a mosaic depicting Jesus at the entrance. The interior features a single large nave with four side chapels decorated with frescoes and stained glass windows created by Domenico Ferri and Antonio Nardi.
Construction began in 1901 under Cardinal Domenico Svampa's leadership, following Edoardo Collamarini's design, and was completed in 1912. A dome collapse occurred in 1929, but the building was reconstructed following the original plans rather than being replaced.
The name reflects Catholic devotion to the Sacred Heart, a spiritual focus that remains central to the community's worship today. You can sense this through the decorative choices and artwork that fill the interior space.
