Miyakojima Ward, Administrative ward in northern Osaka, Japan
Miyakojima-ku extends across residential neighborhoods intermixed with parks, community centers, and local businesses along the Yodogawa River banks.
The ward emerged through administrative reorganization of Osaka in 1943, marking a period of municipal expansion and population growth in the region.
The district preserves the legacy of composer Koichi Kishi through musical chimes at the ward office, playing his composition Taketori Monogatari.
Multiple railway stations throughout the ward connect residents to central Osaka, with Kyobashi station serving as a primary transportation hub.
The Fujita Museum houses the Murasaki Shikibu Nikki Ekotoba manuscript among its collection of 5000 National Treasures and Important Cultural Assets.
