Sagami-Ōno Station, Junction railway station in Sagamihara, Japan.
Sagami-Ōno Station is a railway junction in Sagamihara, Japan, connecting the Odakyu Odawara Line and the JR Sagami Line. The complex includes two island platforms serving six tracks, with the middle pair reserved for trains passing through without stopping.
The junction opened on April 1, 1938, under the name Tsushin Gakko Station, after the Imperial Japanese Army Telecommunication School nearby. The current name was adopted later as the surrounding area grew into a residential district.
The name comes from Sagami-Ōno, with the character for "large" reflecting the area's role in the city. Travelers use this junction to switch between Odakyu and JR East lines, a pattern visible during morning and evening commutes.
The elevated tracks allow direct access to shops and the hotel complex inside the building below. Travelers will find signage in Japanese and English pointing toward different lines.
Since September 2024, arriving trains play the song Wataridori by Alexandros as their approach melody. This musical choice sets the location apart from other stops in the region.
