Kyonan, Administrative town in Awa district, Chiba Prefecture, Japan

Kyonan stretches across 45 square kilometers of land on the Boso Peninsula, featuring both mountainous terrain and a coastline along Tokyo Bay.

The establishment of Kyonan occurred in March 1959 through the consolidation of two separate towns, Katsuyama and Hota, forming a new administrative entity.

Mount Nokogiri stands as the geographical centerpiece of Kyonan, influencing the town's name and shaping the daily activities of local inhabitants.

The town maintains one public elementary school and one junior high school, while transportation needs are served by the JR East Uchiho Line.

Narcissus cultivation in Kyonan dates to the Edo period, establishing the town as a primary producer of these flowers in Japan.
