Nishisonogi district, Administrative district in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan
Nishisonogi district is an administrative area in Nagasaki Prefecture located on the coastal western side of the region. It consists of two main towns with separate centers connected by local roads and agricultural areas between them.
The district was established in 1878 as an administrative division and experienced various territorial adjustments over more than a century. In 2005, several of its towns merged with Nagasaki City, leading to significant changes in its boundaries.
The district maintains traditional Japanese administrative structures while integrating modern governance systems through local elected officials and community organizations.
The two town centers offer different amenities, so visiting multiple locations within the area is worthwhile. Traveling by car or local buses is the most practical way to navigate between different parts of the zone.
