Seiryū-ji, Buddhist temple in Aomori, Japan
The main hall of Seiryū-ji features cypress wood construction, Buddhist statues, and paintings depicting religious figures throughout its corridors and chambers.
Founded in 1982 by Buddhist master Ryūkō Oda, Seiryū-ji became a significant religious center in northern Japan through its association with Kōyasan Buddhism.
The temple provides Buddhist education programs including sutra copying sessions and meditation practices during early Sunday mornings for spiritual development.
The temple welcomes visitors from April to October between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM, and from November to March between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
The Showa Daibutsu, constructed in 1984, measures 21.35 meters in height, making it the largest seated bronze Buddha statue in Japan.
