Gangseo District

Gangseo District is an administrative district in western Seoul that stretches along the Han River, containing residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, and transportation infrastructure. Gimpo International Airport and several transport hubs shape the character of this area.

The name Gangseo means "west of the river" and reflects the area's position relative to the Han River since ancient times. Over centuries, the district developed as an important transport corridor between regions.

The Heo Jun Museum displays medical manuscripts and artifacts from the 16th century, documenting the evolution of traditional Korean medicine. Visitors can observe how historical healing practices were applied in Korea.

Gimpo International Airport is located within the district and offers access via various transportation methods including buses and subway. Visitors will find multiple access points and public transit stations connecting different parts of the area.

Several major South Korean airlines, including Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, operate their headquarters in facilities within this district. This makes it a significant aviation hub in the region.
