COEX Mall, Underground shopping mall in Gangnam District, South Korea
The COEX Mall spans 154,000 square meters underground, housing hundreds of retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, and cultural facilities within its interconnected corridors.
The Korea International Trade Association began construction of COEX Mall in May 1997, completing the 140 billion won project in April 2000.
The Starfield Library within COEX Mall contains 50,000 books and 600 magazines across multiple floors, serving as a central gathering space for readers.
The mall connects directly to Samseong Station on Line 2, Bongeunsa Station on Line 9, and includes parking facilities for 4,000 vehicles.
COEX Aquarium features 16 themed zones with 650 species of marine life, including an underwater tunnel where visitors walk beneath swimming sea creatures.
