Nakhwaam Rock

Nakhwaam Rock is a natural cliff formation situated on the banks of the Baengmagang River at the northern edge of Busosan Mountain. The sheer rock face rises prominently above the water, commanding views across the river landscape.

During the invasion of Sabiseong Fortress by the Shilla-Tang Alliance, women of the Baekje royal court chose to jump from this cliff rather than face captivity. This event secured the site's enduring historical significance.

The name Nakhwaam means 'cliff of falling flowers' and commemorates women from the Baekje Kingdom who made the ultimate sacrifice here. Visitors today recognize this place as a solemn memorial to their courage and resolve.

The site offers no parking facilities or restroom amenities, so visitors should prepare in advance for their journey. It is wise to arrange transportation and basic necessities before heading out to see the rock.

Each spring, cherry blossom petals drift down from nearby trees and gently blanket the rock formation. This natural occurrence creates a poignant connection between the seasonal beauty and the solemn history of the place.
