Dolsan Bridge, Road bridge in Yeosu, South Korea
Dolsan Bridge is a road bridge that connects mainland Yeosu to Dolsando Island by crossing the Namhae Sea. It has two traffic lanes and carries vehicles between these two areas.
Construction of this bridge began in 1980 and opened to the public in 1984. The project improved transportation links between the mainland and the island.
The bridge forms an essential component of National Highway 77, linking the communities of mainland Yeosu with the residents of Dolsando Island.
The bridge has a speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour that drivers must follow. Keep in mind this is a busy crossing, so plan your passage accordingly.
The structure contains dual-plane cables in a fan formation, with 52 cables per plane totaling 350 tons and providing 1860 MPa tensile strength.
