Haemi Sanctuarium Internationale

The Haemi Sanctuarium Internationale is a Catholic shrine in Seosan dedicated to remembering religious victims. The grounds include various buildings, memorial areas, and a church space that provide visitors with insight into the spiritual significance of the place.

The shrine commemorates the period between 1866 and 1882, when over one thousand Catholic believers were executed at this location. This event made it Korea's most significant martyrdom site and shaped the nation's historical memory.

A 600-year-old Hoya tree stands in front of the former prison building and marks a place of great historical weight. The tree has become a symbol of remembrance for the martyrs and draws many visitors to reflect.
