Dunsinane Falls

Dunsinane Falls cascades down 100 meters through the rocky terrain, creating multiple tiers of flowing water between two established tea estates.

The waterfall received its name from Dunsinane Hill in Scotland during the British colonial period when tea plantations were established in the region.

Local residents gather at the neighboring temple for religious ceremonies and utilize the falls for traditional bathing practices throughout the year.

The waterfall lies 23.5 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya along the Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway, requiring approximately 56 minutes of travel time.

The falls form part of the Pundalu Oya river system, which functions as a tributary to Kotmale Oya while flowing between Dunsinane and Sheen estates.
