Al Haouz Province

Al Haouz Province extends across mountains and valleys, containing thirty municipalities including the capital town of Tahannaout and numerous rural settlements.

The province belonged to the Marrakesh-Tensift-El Haouz region until 2015, when administrative reforms integrated it into the newly formed Marrakesh-Safi region.

The province includes multiple Berber communities who maintain their traditions through music, crafts, and seasonal festivals celebrating agricultural cycles.

Travelers reach the province via road connections from Marrakesh, with local transportation services linking the main towns of Ait Ourir, Amizmiz, and Asni.

At Oukaimden, visitors find the highest ski resort in Africa, offering winter sports activities at elevations reaching above 3,000 meters.
