Christ the King is a limestone statue located within Jardines del Recuerdo cemetery northwest of Mexico City, depicting Jesus with arms raised skyward. The figure stands atop a tall pedestal and commands views across the surrounding grounds.
History
Artist David Gutierrez Becerril created this monumental sculpture during the 1970s as a religious landmark. The work received its official inauguration in 1981 and has remained a regional landmark since.
